The Wheathampstead After School Play Scheme is an independent organisation, based in our Nursery, which provides a valuable service for parents.

It organises after school care in the morning Breakfast Club from 7.30am and from the end of the school day until 6.15pm and it is available to all Wheathampstead children aged 5 to 12 years. Each week there is a different theme and children can join in with a wide variety of activities under the supervision of qualified and experienced staff.

WASPS was established in 1992 and has a fully qualified and trained staff team; with a maximum of 34 children each afternoon we maintain a child/staff ratio of 6:1.

We provide child care for families who attend Beech Hyde Primary School and St Helens C of E School from 3.15 to 6.15pm daily. Our Play Workers meet your children from their school and escort them safely to the Club. Where they have a fun filled afternoon.

On arrival children are served a light snack following our healthy eating ethos; after which they can take part in planned activities and crafts or enjoy free play inside and outside with their friends. All children are given the opportunity to complete homework assignments if they so wish.
