Home School Agreement

At Beech Hyde we believe that a strong relationship between home and school is vital.

Our Home School Agreement sets out the responsibilities of the child, the family and the teacher, so we can all work together to help each child achieve their very best.

Home-School Agreement

The school will:

  • Provide high quality teaching and learning experiences
  • Encourage children to always do their best
  • Identify individual needs and provide support
  • Encourage children to take care of their surroundings and others around them
  • Inform parents of the children’s progress at regular meetings and through the annual end of year report
  • Set homework according to the school’s homework policy
  • Contact parents if there are any problems concerning work or behaviour
  • Keep parents informed about school activities through regular communication

We ask the Family to:

  • Make sure the child attends regularly and provide an explanation if the child is absent
  • Ensure the child arrives at school on time – before 8.55am
  • Support the school dress code by ensuring the child is wearing school uniform
  • Encourage the child to be positive and passionate about their education
  • Attend parent/ teacher consultations each term to discuss the child’s progress
  • Support the child in completing home learning, in particular daily reading
  • When possible, attend school events, for example Sports Days
  • Model appropriate behaviour on the school site and at school events

The child should follow ‘The Beech Hyde Code’:

  • Try our best at all times
  • Treat people the way we would like to be treated
  • Be kind, friendly and do not hurt other people’s feelings
  • Work together and encourage each other
  • Take care of everyone and everything in our school
